IndieMe Academy currently includes two main learning paths:

• Retail Foundations: For artists preparing to sell directly to customers through markets, shows, pop-ups, retail events, and other direct-to-customer opportunities.
• Wholesale Path: For artists who are ready to understand, prepare for, and grow into wholesale.

Each path is designed to support a different stage or direction of an artist’s business.

IndieMe Academy is for makers, artists, and creative entrepreneurs who want clear guidance, practical tools, and support as they build a stronger handcrafted business. Some students may be preparing for their first in-person retail show, while others may be ready to explore wholesale, reach buyers, and grow into a more scalable business model.

That depends on the path you choose. Retail Foundations covers topics such as product readiness, pricing, display, customer experience, selling in person, follow-up, and retail growth. The Wholesale Path covers topics such as wholesale readiness, pricing for wholesale, product presentation, buyer outreach, line sheets, marketing, business foundations, and long-term wholesale growth.

Mentorship benefits vary by path and plan. One-Year Wholesale Path students receive three consecutive months of guidance from an assigned mentor, and Lifetime Wholesale Path students receive six consecutive months. Both plans also include one individual mentor review session. The Wholesale Starter Pass and Retail Foundations do not include assigned mentor guidance or individual review sessions.

We also offer a separate premium 1:1 mentorship experience called From Maker to Market for artists who want more personalized support with pricing, wholesale preparation, strategy, and growth. This separate mentorship does not require IndieMe Academy enrollment.

IndieMe Academy is open to makers, artists, and creative entrepreneurs who are ready to learn, apply the lessons, and take thoughtful action in their business. Academy enrollment is not jury-based. Retail Foundations is a good fit for artists preparing for direct-to-customer selling, while the Wholesale Path is designed for artists preparing to enter or grow in the wholesale market.

No. You do not need to be an IndieMe Marketplace artist to enroll in IndieMe Academy. Some Academy lessons may reference IndieMe Marketplace as an example or opportunity, especially inside the Wholesale Path, but Academy enrollment and IndieMe Marketplace membership are separate. Completing an Academy path does not guarantee acceptance into IndieMe Marketplace. The Marketplace maintains its own application and jury process.

IndieMe Academy offers rolling enrollment. Once your registration is complete, you can begin learning at your own pace.

Due to the digital nature of our content and the immediate access provided, all course sales are final. We recommend reviewing the course overview before purchasing to make sure the path you choose is the right fit for your needs. Access depends on the path and plan you choose. Some options provide 30 days of access, some provide one year of access, and some provide lifetime access. Please review the specific plan details on the pricing page before enrolling.

Yes. IndieMe Academy is designed to be self-paced. You can move through the lessons in a way that works for your schedule, your production season, and your business goals.

Life happens. Our courses are designed so you can pause and return when you are ready. If you are enrolled in a time-limited access plan and are nearing the end of your access period, please contact us if you have questions about your options.

Wholesale Path mentorship is designed to support students as they work through wholesale business development, product presentation, pricing, marketing strategy, buyer readiness, and related assignments. Mentorship access is available to eligible Wholesale Path Yearly and Lifetime students for the timeframe included in their plan.

The time commitment depends on your goals and pace. We recommend setting aside regular time each week to watch lessons, complete worksheets, review your materials, and apply what you are learning. Even small, consistent steps can create meaningful progress.

Depending on the path you choose, resources may include worksheets, checklists, guides, templates, planning tools, pricing resources, presentation support, and other practical downloads designed to help you apply the lessons to your own business.

Feedback depends on the path and plan you choose. One-Year and Lifetime Wholesale Path students receive mentor feedback during the mentorship period included with their plan, as well as one individual mentor review session. The Wholesale Starter Pass and Retail Foundations are self-guided and do not include assignment feedback, assigned mentor guidance, or individual review sessions.

One-Year and Lifetime Wholesale Path students may submit completed assignments to academy@indieme.com during their included mentorship period. Assignment submission is optional unless you are working toward a mentor review or printed Wholesale Path certificate. Retail Foundations and the Wholesale Starter Pass are self-guided.

Yes. Many worksheets, templates, checklists, and guides are available to download and use offline. These materials are designed to help you apply what you are learning directly to your business.

One-Year and Lifetime Wholesale Path plans include access to the Academy Lounge, our private artist community, for the duration of the student’s course access. The Wholesale Starter Pass and Retail Foundations do not currently include Academy Lounge access.

Yes. Retail Foundations students can download a digital Retail Path Graduate badge after completing the course. Wholesale Path students can download a digital completion badge after completing the curriculum. Wholesale Path students who want a printed certificate must submit all required module homework assignments for review. A badge or certificate recognizes course completion; it does not guarantee Marketplace acceptance, buyer orders, or specific business results.

IndieMe Academy provides practical lessons and resources students can revisit during their access period. Retail Foundations and One-Year Wholesale Path students receive new and updated materials made available during their one-year membership. Lifetime Wholesale Path students receive lifetime access to current and future Wholesale Path updates, tools, and resources. Mentorship and community access are limited to the benefits and timeframes included with the selected plan.
